It’s been a while since my last written blog, because I’ve been very busy creating content for my YouTube channel. But lo and behold, I have not forgotten my website. This is my first born and I would still love to continue writing. Anyway, I would like to talk about a community which for me, are rainbows in disguise. They do bring color and joy to an individual’s life and they deserve to be recognize and respected.
At least most of us have one or more friends or family member in the LGBTQ community. And not everyone understands them or enjoy their company. But I do. I love how their presence makes the place lighter and gay. I have family members who are gay and lesbians. One of my best friends is a gay man, who I am so proud of for who he has become.
History and up to this present day, people like them are still discriminated and not given their rights as a HUMAN BEING. Like you and me, like every man and woman in this planet, they are also humans like us. We’re not talking about gender but rather humanity and kindness to all.
In my first two episodes on my YouTube channel, I had a chance to ask questions, gathered from friends in the LGBTQ community, to one of the known names in this community and the one and only Asia’s King of Talk, Mr. Boy Abunda; who is also my uncle. I have known him since I was a little girl and remembering those days wherein I would play with him and sit on his lap. All of his answers made me understand more about what they are fighting for. Being in 37 year relationship with my uncle (my mom’s brother) is what everybody would say, #couplegoals. And mind you, it is not all rainbows and butterflies in those 37 years. What’s inspiring about that is they choose each other everyday – for the past 3 decades and counting.
I have learned a lot in this interview and let me share it with you, too. Here are the videos and I hope you enjoy and learn something from it, too. Don’t forget to subscribe to my channel and hit that notification bell to get you notified for my upcoming videos.
(English subs are made available for the deaf and mute community and as well as non-Filipino friends.)
Sending love and light to you all! 🌷
